Supporting the renewable sector

Penzance Dry Dock will play an important role in supporting the renewable sector.

The Celtic Sea represents an excellent opportunity to secure a more sustainable future for UK energy production through Floating Offshore Wind. This project, led by The Crown Estate, will deliver a leasing opportunity for the first generation of commercial-scale floating offshore windfarms – unlocking up to 4GW of new clean energy capacity by 2035

Today, we met with Ian Stout, Managing Director of Lisarb Offshore Ltd. Lisarb Offshore is a rapidly expanding renewable energy developer in solar, wind, and hydrogen. Along with a tour of our facilities and port we discussed our fabrication and shipbuilding capabilities and how Penzance Dry Dock is strategically located to support Operations and Maintenance in The Celtic Sea for decades to come.

Penzance Dry Dock, in collaboration with Cornwall Marine Network and MOR group members, will provide robust solutions and innovations to the complex challenges faced.

MOR Group is a collaborative partnership of established market-leading companies, with some of the greatest minds dedicated to promoting Cornwall and the Southwest as an international centre of excellence for the marine industry.

A memorandum of understanding is to be signed this week which will secure work for the next 40 years.
