Knot tying

Proper knot tying can make all the difference in docking safely and securely. A poorly tied knot can easily slip or come undone, putting the boat and others in danger.

David, our new sales rep and a seasoned sailor, led an internal team training session. The session was for our new members of the docking team, as well as our seniors who wanted to brush up on their skills. One of the most important things to master is knot tying and rope work.

From theory, knot tying and boat handling, to mooring practice and line handling, the day was action-packed. It ended with a heaving line throw competition, with the winner getting a delicious cake from the The Harbourside PZ.

The team regularly practice these knots so they can tie them quickly and confidently. Our employees are our greatest asset, and investing in their training and development is key to sustaining business growth and success. We are always trying to learn, develop and improve what we do to create a safer and more efficient business.
